Reuse and
recycling
are not
the same

Recycling is a step in the right direction. But Reuse delivers even greater carbon and cost savings.

Recycling involves more energy and resource-intensive processes like shredding, granulating, and remanufacturing. Reuse keeps valuable items like garment hangers and tags in circulation longer, reducing waste and emissions.

Realise the untapped value
of your existing assets

Retailers often miss the hidden value in everyday items like garment hangers, tags, and other types of packaging. At Pact Reuse, we believe if it can be reused, it should be.

We start by identifying areas where your current assets can be reused, helping you unlock hidden value and reduce unnecessary costs.

Our actionable insights guide your sustainability strategy, enabling you to improve operational efficiency and achieve measurable results.

Through our in-house innovation centre, we review your existing assets and, if needed, design reusable packaging tailored to your needs.

Items that can’t be reused are recycled, closing the loop and ensuring nothing goes to waste.

Our circular process explained

Pact Reuse’s circular solutions keep valuable resources in use, not in landfill.

We collect, sort, inspect, and re-package used garment hangers and accessories from retail stores, then redistribute them at needlepoint to garment manufacturers.

1. GARMENTS DISPLAYED

New garments displayed

The hanger reuse loop begins in the store, when garments are hung on a display rack, waiting for a customer purchase.

2. Hangers retained

Hangers retained in store

Once a garment is sold, the hanger is retained at check out in dedicated boxes or bins.

3. COLLECTED & RETURNED

Shipped to Pact Reuse centres

Hangers are collected from stores and shipped to Pact reuse centres. Pact reuses over 1 billion hangers and accessories every year, partnering with many large- scale retailers globally.

4. Hangers sorted

Cleaned and quality inspected

Reuse hangers are sorted, cleaned and quality inspected one by one. Those that are not good enough to be reused, are recycled and the material is used to make new hangers: a completely closed loop.

5. Repacked

As good as new

Reuse hangers are packed “as good as new”: thanks to Pact’s rigorous quality controls, we ensure that all reuse hangers match visual merchandising and technical specifications for in- store display.

6. Hangers delivered

Hangers shipped to garment suppliers

Reuse hangers are shipped to garment suppliers and applied to garments before packing and shipping. Pact’s global network ensures fast & reliable supply in all the most important garment manufacturing regions.

7. Floor ready

New garments shipped “floor ready”

New garments are shipped to the store with their own hangers in the same box, for easier unpacking and display. Once the garment is on the rack, the loop starts again: our hangers are all designed for reuse and can withstand several cycles, with many staying in the loop for over 10 years!

Reuse vs New Manufacture

Our hangers are specifically designed and manufactured for reuse. Hangers and tags are manufactured to withstand several complete cycles without breakage, with a life span of over ten years in many cases.

The reuse of hangers and accessories, rather than manufacturing new, uses 86% less water and has a 64% reduction in carbon emissions.
